Lúcia Barrenechea, album "Pra Piano", 2024.

Pra Piano is a project that has a unique meaning for me. The recordings for this album were made at home, during the pandemic, with the musical direction of Sérgio Barrenechea, a tireless supporter of my "endeavors". All the songs were broadcast on the YouTube platform, at different events. The idea of releasing these recordings in the form of an EP is a way of giving new meaning to this period, placing this repertoire in a new context of my artistic moment, in addition to slightly diversifying the way we promote our Brazilian music.

In the recorded repertoire, I included works by 3 composers who have already passed away: Henrique Oswald, Maria Luisa Priolli and the late friend Dawid Korenchendler. And I couldn't help but choose works by composers that I admire and who have contributed beautifully to Brazilian piano: Caio Senna, Claudia Caldeira, Léa Freire, Marcelo Caldi (with whom I proudly share a waltz) and Marcos Lucas. With this cut, the intention is to offer a mosaic – within an infinite number of possibilities – of styles, sounds and pianisms of Brazilian music.

I thank the composers who provided their works for this project and my friend Alexandre Dias for suggesting the recording of Maria Luisa Priolli's works. I dedicate this work to the men in my life: Sérgio, Pedro and Miguel.
